Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Jan and I hail from a small, ‘sunny’ town outside Glasgow, Scotland. At the age of 31 I have to admit that I am a total and utter bookaholic. I can’t walk past a bookstore without going in and either buying something or taking a note of yet another book to add to my Amazon wishlist; the thought of going out in public book-less makes me break out into a cold sweat and books are slowly taking over my house one room at a time.

Wizarding Times

Hanging out in a bookstore cafe with a skinny latte in one hand and a book in the other is one of my all-time favourite things to do and when I win the lottery – it’s going to happen, it’s just a matter of time – then the plan is to move to Paris and open up a cafe/bookshop.

When I’m not reading or planning what to read next I love to spend time with my friends and family – you know who you are – and abusing my Cineworld card going to see as many movies as I can. I’ll go to see anything and everything except for gory horror films or anything with clowns in it. Those things are just freaky!

My last great love is running. If you’d said to Teenage Me that one day I’d voluntarily go out running, I’d have laughed in your face but after running my first 10k for a charity close to my heart – Arthritis Research UK – I got hooked and I’m now planning a half-marathon next year. The world would be a happier place if everyone went running!

If you like books, movies, running, caffeine or just general ramblings then this is the blog for you! Hope you like it!

  1. Hi Jan, Happy New Year! I would like to contact you by e-mail but can’t seem to find it… If you would rather not post your e-mail right here, could you please send it to me in a message through Facebook? Merci!

  2. We completely understand when you say books are taking over the house! We have to donate books now as we read them because we were running out of room. Our bookshelf which is 4 shelves high is stacked with books that we are yet to read…. And more keep getting added. We keep telling ourselves we need to stop buying books but its become an addiction 🙂 – a good one at least!

    • Yes, it’s definitely an addiction with me too! There are worse addictions to have though and at least, when we’re bankrupt from all the books we’ve bought, we’ll have plenty to read! 🙂
